FAQs

What is “Golf Performance”?

We use a unique blend of our background as physical therapists and movement experts, along with our experience training with TPI (see below) to optimize how a golfer moves, feels, and performs during the golf swing. We are NOT teaching professionals, and we do NOT change your swing. Simply put, we look at the physical characteristics a golfer needs to swing efficiently and compare it to your capabilities. Working with us, we will create a program to improve your mobility, strength, and functional movements to play better, pain free golf.

We follow a 3 step method:

  1. Address mobility and pain deficits

  2. Once mobility is normalized, improve strength and stability

  3. Improve functional and dynamic movements

What is TPI? Why should you see us for Golf Performance?

TPI is the world's leading educational organization dedicated to the study of how the human body functions in relation to the golf swing.

TPI discovered how a properly functioning body allows a player to swing a golf club in the most efficient way possible. Additionally, TPI has analyzed how physical limitations in a player’s body can adversely affect the golf swing and lead to potential injury.

Both of Alpha’s DPT’s are TPI certified. Combining this method with physical therapy treatments we are experts in pain free golf biomechanics and performance.

Why are we different from other physical therapy locations?

This is not your traditional Physical Therapy service. You will receive 1-on-1, individualized care with your Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) for at least 60 minutes. In doing so, you and your DPT have full autonomy in how your care is directed. The Physical Therapy field, and healthcare in general, is rapidly changing. The need for physician referral and support has passed. Even worse, insurance companies now dictate how many patients therapist’s see and what they see patients for. Due to this and the decline of reimbursement for PT services, the quality of care at traditional clinics has fallen.

Therefore, we are providing a therapy experience that allows us to treat patients 1-on-1 and provide the service you deserve.

How do I pay for services?

We accept cash, check, all major credit cards, FSA, HSA and Venmo. Upon request, we can provide a superbill of services rendered to submit for out of network reimbursement.

Do you accept my insurance?

We are an out of network practice meaning you pay a direct fee for the services provided as we do not have contracts with insurance companies. If you are interested we can provide you with a bill and help you navigate submitting to your insurance company for reimbursement as per above.

Why no insurance? To provide a true personalized physical therapy service on your terms. You are receiving a personalized, 60 minute concierge Physical Therapy session. These appointments are all 1-on-1 with your Doctor of Physical Therapy. No double patients. No techs or support staff. Hands on, high quality, individualized treatment. Your session is about you!

Do I need a physician’s referral?

NO! NYS is a direct access state which means you are able to seek out licensed Physical Therapy services without a physician’s referral. We will keep open lines of communication with your physician and other healthcare providers at your request.

Can I book services separately from memberships?

Yes! You can book individual sessions, golf simulator, and infrared sauna.
